Yearbook Order Deadline This Week!

Now is your chance to reserve a yearbook for your student! The yearbook will be full of fun Cal Young memories and photos from events throughout the year. The order deadline is this Thursday, April 17th!

The cost for a yearbook is $30. Scholarships are available. If you would like to support others by sponsoring a student in need, we encourage you to make a yearbook donation to cover a scholarship.

Purchases, scholarship requests, and donations can all be done through School Pay or by contacting Ms. Alexis at krivchuk_a@4j.lane.edu or calling 541-790-6414. Cash & checks are also accepted in the front office.

Not sure if you've already purchased? You can check your previous orders on your SchoolPay account, contact Ms. Alexis, or your student can check the posted list of yearbooks reserved.

Yearbooks will be distributed at 8th grade promotion (8th graders only) and on the last day of school. Students will have opportunities throughout the day on the last day of school dedicated to yearbook signing time.

8th Grade Trip to Sheldon

Attention 8th grade parents:
Before spring break your student received a permission slip in their Science class to attend a field trip to Sheldon. This is a field trip that is open to all 8th graders regardless if they plan on attending Sheldon. This field trip will take place on May 19th. During this field trip they will hear from Sheldon students and staff. Tour the school while classes are in session. Have a meal in the Sheldon cafeteria and learn more about what Sheldon offers. In order for your student to be able to attend they must return the permission slip signed by their parent/guardian by THIS Wednesday, April 16. It can be turned in to their Science teacher or the front office.

8th Grade Toddler Photos

With the start of the 4th quarter comes the push toward promotion. As part of promotion festivities, we ask that a baby or toddler photo be submitted for each of our 8th grade students. As of today, we are missing photos for over 100 students!

School Transportation Survey: We Want to Hear From You!

In partnership with the City of Eugene, we’re asking all parents and guardians to take a few minutes to fill out a brief survey about your child’s daily commute to school. Your feedback will help us better understand transportation needs and improve options for all families. The survey is quick, confidential, and your responses will remain anonymous.
As a thank you, everyone who completes the survey by April 20 will be entered into the City of Eugene’s random drawing for a chance to win one of twelve $25 gift cards! Please take a moment to share your thoughts by filling out the survey here: School Transportation Survey. Your input is invaluable and we appreciate your time!

Learn to Ride a Bike - A Free, All Ages, Drop-In Event For Not-Yet-Riders!

Tuesday, April 29, 5-7 pm, 4J Education Center, 200 North Monroe St, Eugene
Do you or your child want to learn how to ride a bike? Join 4J, Bethel, and Springfield Safe Routes to School programs, the City of Eugene, the City of Springfield, Shift Community Cycles, Cascadia Mobility and AARP for this fun event with bike checks, free helmets and information about bike share.
We’ll start with balancing and gliding without pedals or training wheels. Some will learn to pedal in one session, while others may need more practice to reach that final goal. You don’t need your own bike to participate, but please bring a helmet and bike if you have one. Contact Safe Routes to School at mazze_s@4j.lane.edu or albee_b@4j.lane.edu with questions or to volunteer.
